Ruffles RIDGE Tournament of Champions - 2K20

Art Direction, Design - 2019

For the 2019 iteration of the Ruffles RIDGE Challenge, my team brought forward the concept of the Tournament of Champions, a cross-console (though not crossplay, sadly) contest to determine the absolute best 4-pt shooter in NBA 2K, regardless of what machine he might play on. 2K diehards and Ruffles’ Swagologists would have the opportunity to compete in 8 bi-weekly RIDGE challenges to try and go for the high score to win in-game swag, Beats headphones, or tickets to NBA All-Star Weekend.

My fight poster-inspired look was selected, and from there, I developed packaging, point of sale, social media, and in-game assets in support of Ruffles’ tentpole gaming program. The planned generic avatars never materialized, so the face-to-face element of the initial concept faded with time, though the red vs. blue motif would go on to influence the next year’s iteration of the Tournament.

Social output included event reminders, score updates, and general tournament hype.
